Hanuman Garhi is a 10th-century temple fortress dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Located in the heart of Ayodhya, it is one of the most important temples in the city. The temple sits atop a hill and requires climbing 76 steps to reach the main shrine.

Historical Significance

According to local beliefs, Lord Hanuman lived here to protect Ayodhya and the Ram Janmabhoomi. The temple is built like a four-sided fort with circular bastions at each corner. It's customary for pilgrims to visit Hanuman Garhi before visiting the Ram Janmabhoomi temple.

    • Morning Aarti: 5:00 AM
    • Temple Opens: 5:30 AM
    • Evening Aarti: 7:30 PM
    • Temple Closes: 10:00 PM
  • Special Timings on Tuesdays and Saturdays

    The temple remains open till 11:00 PM due to higher devotee footfall
