About Nageshwarnath Temple

The Nageshwarnath Temple is one of the oldest temples in Ayodhya, established by Kush, the son of Lord Ram. According to legend, Kush lost his armlet while bathing in the Saryu river, which was retrieved by a Nag-Kanya who fell in love with him. As a tribute, Kush established this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

The temple predates most other structures in Ayodhya and has been mentioned in various historical texts. It represents the ancient connection between Lord Ram's dynasty and Lord Shiva worship. The temple architecture showcases elements from various historical periods.
