About Sarayu River
The Sarayu River is one of the seven sacred rivers of India and holds immense religious significance
in Hinduism. It was along these banks that Lord Ram took Jal Samadhi, and today the ghats serve as
important spiritual and cultural centers of Ayodhya.
Religious Significance
The Sarayu River is mentioned in ancient texts including the Ramayana and Vedas. Taking a holy dip
in its waters is believed to cleanse one's sins. The river banks have numerous ghats where religious
